Red Hat's .0 releases have always pushed the envelope considerably, at least with core facilities and 7.0 was no exception. .1 and .2 releases are progressively more conservative, to the point that I myself run only .2 releases on production machines, and wait the 18-month cycle for the next .2. It can be a long wait sometimes. I still have 6.2 boxes in production I'd like to get upgraded, but I've not found time to do the upgrade and there are a few remaining issues with some of my configuration and custom applications.
