I'm assuming he has sufficient hardware. If he can dedicate a server to the
task, then he can do a fair comparison. If he's working on it with a few
mates,
A kickstart install with a bare minimum of packages would be suitable. I
suggest KS so it's more easily reproduced by others or on other hardware, in
the true scientific spirit.
Also, reinstalling from scratch ensures none of the tests impacts unfairly on
any of the others.
