Thanks for your comments on the necessity for small efficient disks.
A perfect explanation, with which I agree entirely (by the way, you
know yours are the same arguments discussed in the first edition of
ESR's "Building the perfect Unix box", don't you?).
Maybe 60/GB HDDs should be sold as "mass backup internal devices",
"auxiliary video processing buffers" "juke-box auxiliary storage".
Or at least techies should start openly talking about them in these
terms, to highlight the need for a change in marketing strategies.
We need this change: the problem with old disks is that they are
noisy, slow and more energy consuming.
