Actually, off the top of my head ... and I have no idea if you
can do this with any available software ... but ...
Could you just simply mark each signal change (i.e. from show to advert,
advert to advert, or advert to show) and if it was less than something
like 2 minutes ago - just delete that section - or jump back to the
beginning of the current section - if it is quick enought - and continue
recording from there?
Of course you'd have to handle the start of the show differently since
often the first scene before intro/aderts can be quite short.
Just a thought ... or something to expand upon
