That was my first thought.
2nd thought - hmm - a big company spreading Linux all around the world!
3rd thought - hey hey hey hey - what was I thinking - this is AOL!!!
I guess there is no doubt there will be many issues if it happens:
1) It WILL mean linux is more wide spread
2) It MAY mean that AOL will try to take some control over linux
- of course it shouldn't matter - but then again Time Warner is BIG
3) I'm sure there would be many who would run screaming to another
Linux distribution!
4) Once a big company gets involved - will it mean the end of a lot
of the smaller distributions (I don't think so - but ...)
5) Time to buy RedHat shares? (damn I'm broke!!!) :-)
6) Hopefully the GPL and Linus will keep them honest if it does happen
7) Change the Status Quo - good - bad - some like change - others dont
lets hope if it happens that it has no real bad side effects
8) ... ok I'm rambling here - I guess I'm just going into shock :-)
