You're absolutely right about Red Hat position and the money they'd
(not) make by the average third world villager. Third world goverments
and businesses are another matter however, and certainly would prefer
to spend their relatively little money on SW running on junk PCs.
However, what bothers me even much than what we've been discussing
today is to see free
software independent programmers think in that way. A corporation must
go where the money is, but a volunteer all happy to see Megabytes and
CPU cycles going down the drain "bcuz lotta icons is k00l" makes me
sad.
Ah, well...
I'd really like to start working on such a low needs distro. We'll
see.
