Whatever. I am drooling at the end result, and have no particular
interest at the method used to get it. I mentioned SVGAText just
because I read somewhere that it was faster than the alternatives, or
at least able to go beyond 1024x768.

And I also seem to remember, but again might be wrong, that TWIN
does have some method of resizing its consoles.

Right on, Bill: sometimes I go on for days using only the programs
that you mention, I'd like to do it faster. And that would be very good
both for desktop use with very low RAM, and for development on medium/low end machines: thinks of all those megs and CPU cycles freed
from X and going to gcc....
