No, I didn't use the Server Assistant disk to begin the install. I haven't
had a lot of luck with this (I'll share my experiences later if you wish,
they are well documented!)
The PERC drivers loaded fine from the RH disks and, at that time at least, I
think they were considered OK. I didn't look for updated drivers. I didn't
use expert mode for the install, so hence I didn't need/wasn't able to
install anything special for the PERC. (I have had to do this with other
boxes, notably Compaq, but not with Dell.)
The NICs were also correctly recognised and installed, as I said, but I
found updated/recommended drivers on the Server Assistant Disk, so I loaded
them.
These are obviously not compiled in but insmod/modprobed into the kernel.
Not sure if any of this REALLY helps.
Do you have an ifcfg.ethN anywhere relevant in the structure?
