First off, check the linuxprinting.org database to see how much of the 
functions of the Lexmark are supported in linux. Then simply share the 
printer out, and use printtool to connect to it. You need to set up samba 
on the linux machine, and I would also suggest making the linux box the 
wins server for the network.

BTW, if you can use the linux box as the gateway/router for the w2k box, 
you might notice a performance boost in the windoh$ machine.
