I undersatnd your point, but i don´t think that's the problem. Why my cpu is
set to 93 MHZ? since it's a 366 PII. That info is taken from KDE control
panel.

An other sugestion: You need at least 512 Mb of internel memory. I had
Linux running on a HP 4150 PII with 256 Mb and was very slow; added 256
MB >nice speed!
Ofcours everything is relative to all the options you've selected; the
more options, more memory!

Does it say 93 or 193? Send the whole contents of /proc/cpuinfo...
You'll find that many "mobile" Intel chips run at half speed when
you're
on battery power. Perhaps this is the case with yours.
