After trying all day to get connected via lpr/lpd (Thanks, Barry) and *then*
checking linuxprinting.org (Thanks, Marcel) I've come to the conclusion that
the Lexmark X83 is a choice about on the level of my stock market decisions
-- expensive, not too good, and in the end not at all what I wanted.

Still haven't got anything to print using printconf-gui, but tomorrow is
another day.  Till then perhaps I'll go kick some rocks.
