Hi, I have many servers running Redhat 7.2. After upgraded to xinetd 2.3.9, two servers frequently fail to connect using ftp, the xinetd cannot start the connection (no error message in any log) The problem will go away with a restart of xinetd. But the problem is, it dies randomly with no log and no warning! Our ftp allow any IP to access, and it does not allow anonymous ftp. The log always has some entries from ftp scanner to search for anonymous ftp. It makes a number of connections in a few seconds. xinetd sometimes dies after that. We applied the per_source = 3 in /etc/xinetd.d/wu-ftpd, but the problem is still exists. It said that it is connected, but the ftp banner (hostname, wu-ftp version and username) did not appear and wait forever. Best Regards, Douglas Kong System Administrator
