Okay, great, now just how do you propose I view that from a console?

Try ports 2 & 3... I get the feeling that your router may be set for 
uplink on 1 of the 2 ports you're using, in which case you need a 
crossover cable to make things work...

Hmmm... they used to be good at linux, considering that most of their 
routers run the 2.0 kernel... maybe D-Link has sold out to unka bill?
