RE: Laptop Recommendation Sought.

Whatever laptop you get I _ALWAYS_ get the LONGEST WARRANTY
I can afford with the laptop AND I get the most extensive
warranty I can afford. I call it the NO PROBLEM warranty.
If I spill coffee on it, NO PROBLEM, they'll fix it. If I
drop it and the screen cracks, NO PROBLEM, they'll replace
it. Thus, the NO PROBLEM warranty.

If you can't get at least a 3 year NO PROBLEM warranty,
DON'T BUY IT.

Sometimes the manufacturer won't warrant a NO PROBLEM
warranty but the store selling you the laptop might.
Locally here, Circuit City will sell a NO PROBLEM warranty
with anything. I have had experience with their NO PROBLEM
warranty and they immediatly replaced a broken laptop that
was 2 years old. Of course they didn't have the same model
(2 years old) so they said to go pick one out of the
existing stock on hand. I walked out with a brand new
laptop, faster and more memory than the old one, and no cost
to me.

Again, the most important item in a laptop is the WARRANTY.

Subject: Laptop Recommendation Sought.

About 14 months ago I bought a laptop from QLI. It is now a
paperweight with a dead video and, naturally, out of
warranty.

So I am in the market for another laptop and would like
opinions for
something a little more robust. (I'm gonna shoot for two
whole years
this time :-) I plan to install either RH 7.2 or 8.0 and I
have some
experience at getting laptops to work with Linux.

Any suggestions?
