Redhat Linux Syskonnect sk98lin trouble

I have 5 Dell Poweredge 2550 systems. All running
RedHat Linux 7.2 with a customized 2.4.7 kernel.
Each system has 2 syskonnect Dual Link Gig ethernet
fiber cards. Anyway.. 3 of the systems are older and
have 933M proccessors and are working just fine. On
the other 2 they are newer and have 1 Gig processors.
I have tried going through Dell Support and done the
normal things.. running all their diagnostics, I
downgraded the bioses in the newer systems to match
the ones that do work.
Basically the problem is, if I bring the sk98lin
interfaces up and if there is traffic the system
reboots. Sometimes it takes days other times minutes
or seconds. If I run a tcpdump on any interface it
almost immediatly crashes. No messages are written to
any logs. I've tried swapping everything on these
systems. Nics, pci slot caddy, hard drives, memory.
I have even switched a 1gig for a 933 processor. The
machine stayed up for over a day when i did that. But
it still crashed.
I've tried using several different kernels, I've tried
using RedHat 8.0 all with the same results.
Oh.. there is also an on-board ethernet adapter: an
Intel Corporation 82557 10/100. I have tried
disabling the intel card, and the system still
crashed.
Anybody have any ideas at all of something to try or
to look for??
Anything at all?

Thank You!
Jen
