Hi,
I am running RH 7.2 kernel 2.4.7-10 on a Pentium IV
Drive configuration is - 2 IDE on a Promise Controller confiured for RAID 1
This system had been running flawlessly for 6 months and suddenly stopped responding to telnet, ping, etc. Upon arrival at the site, I couldn't even get the monitor on the system to show me anything (it was blank)
I powered the system off and them back on to perform a reboot and here is what I get:
...
>Mounting /proc filesystem
>Creating root device
>Mounting root filesystem
>EXT3-fs: INFO: recovery required on read only filesystem
>EXT3-fs: write access will be enabled during recovery
Then the system just hangs. No disk activity... nothing.
The MBFastTrak 133 utility reports that the RAID array is functional
I tried moving the drived into the parallel redundant server and they cause it to do the same thing.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks,
Brian Clark
