If I was tasked with finding a solution, I'd use DNS which supported 
proper reverse lookup entries for the source hosts that you are 
supporting.  As you are finding, a /etc/hosts with 100 entries gets 
unwieldy and becomes a challenge to manage efficiently and accurately.
