Re: telnet on RH Advanced server 2.1



Had same problem. We set the Primary DNS setting to the IP of the linux server. You will probably find the same problem with ftp if you have that installed.

If I was tasked with finding a solution, I'd use DNS which supported 
proper reverse lookup entries for the source hosts that you are 
supporting.  As you are finding, a /etc/hosts with 100 entries gets 
unwieldy and becomes a challenge to manage efficiently and accurately.
