HELP:RH 7.2 install on Soyo SY-6VCA Mobo failures

Has anyone out there successfully installed/ran RH7.2 on a Soyo SY-6VCA
motherboard? I have been having a heck of a time getting RH7.2 on one
of these boards. The install (anaconda) either exits abnormally or gets
a Signal 11 error during the "Transfering install image to hard disk"
screen (after formatting of partitions takes place) RH 7.3 gets a
little further but crashes when copying of packages starts.

I have replaced the Memory, Nic, Hard disk, used an PCI add on disk
controller in place of the onboard one, used different CPUs, VGA cards,
played with all the BIOS settings (loaded fail-safe defaults, disabled
UDMA, CPU Cache, etc, memory timings, you name it....)

I don't consider myself a newbie, as I have been installing and running
RH Linux since 1996, and maintain 4 Linux systems at home as well as 3
more at work (including a laptop or two...I am a data comm engineer)
But this is the first time I have had such trouble.

This motherboard shows up on a couple of sites as being compatible with
Linux and Mandrake lists it as well on their site.

An email tech support person from Soyo told me that the Board doesn't
support Linux, due to a limitation of the BIOS core, when I requested an
RMA. Seems strange when I see this board listed as Linux compatible at
the above places above.

Any one out there have any ideas on this one?
