For all those who have subscribed to both the lists and got my questions two times I am sorry about that. I tried hooking up my Linux hardisk on to a windows box and then ran partition magic. But that does not allow me to resize my partition since it says that partition is full, when it is not.
This is my df output
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/hda3 73G 5.3G 63G 8% /
/dev/hda1 45M 38M 6.0M 86% /boot
none 250M 0 250M 0% /dev/shm
I am trying to re-partition my hda3.
I tried using parted on Linux. But since I am trying to partition a mounted partition I get warning messages and so I tried to boot with a parted boot floppy and then use parted to re-partition the disk. For some reason that does not work. I would appreciate if someone who has used parted to resize the partition give me some pointers about doing it the right way.
TIA
avinash
