Do you have a line like this in /etc/hosts.allow
sendmail: all 
Hoprfully you don't habe all: all in that file.
Have you changed sendmail.conf as described in the release notes?

This is the place where hostname is kept. domainame is also kept here but is not
really essential unless you are using NIS. dnsdomainame is the one you want to set.
