SCSI-Picture-Scanner

Hello,
after long time I wanted to scan a picture in RedHat 7.2. I tried with 
Xscanimage, but nothing works. I guess, that the updates from updateagent 
has changed something. Do some budy know what is happen?
Earlyer I was able to scan. Long time I has no used the scanner. Now I can 
no more scan...
Whats the trouble?
