Hey, all:
I'm having difficulty resolving a conflict on my
server:
Oct 28 09:09:37 staff kernel: SvrWks CSB5: IDE
controller on PCI bus 00 dev 79
Oct 28 09:09:37 staff kernel: PCI: Device 00:0f.1 not available because of resource collisions Oct 28 09:09:37 staff kernel: SvrWks CSB5: (ide_setup_pci_device:) Could not enable device. I can't figure out why or where there is a resource
collision. Also, this message worries me:
Oct 28 09:09:37 staff kernel: ide: Assuming 33MHz
system bus speed for PIO modes; override with idebus=xx
Oct 28 09:09:37 staff kernel: ide0 at 0x2010-0x2017,0x201a on irq 5 33MHZ doesn't seem right for this "high-powered"
ServerWorks controller and two ATA-100 drives. Can anyone make any
recommendations on what I should do to troubleshoot this? I noticed a
ServerWorks IDE driver within the kernel source I can compile as a module and
try to insert into my kernel, is that a safe place to start?
File is in:
linux-2.4.18-17.7.x/kernel/drivers/ide/serverworks.c
If someone can answer this I will not need to
manually compile - within the redhat distributed 2.4.18-17 kernel, does anyone
know if this serverworks driver is already compiled in? I haven't noticed
it compiled as a module. Thanks for everything.
Jim
