I am running 7.2 on an older Compaq Proliant (dual 200 MHZ) with a SCSI/RAID controller, and using Grub. It installed fine and has been running fine for about 6 months. I use up2date to keep everything current, and this too has worked well.
The problem I am having, is none of the updated kernels will boot. During startup I get a "panic, can't find init" message.
Why does the original kernel (2.4.7-10smp) work, when none of the others will. Any ideas on where to look? Do I have to build it manually with some special options? If so can anyone point me to some docs.
