Also, check in /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0

and see if there is a GATEWAY specified in there as well,
also note, if you have multiple NICS, and you have GATEWAY
specified in more than one ifcfg-ethx file, only the first
one takes effect.
