You don't really want to uninstall the MBR, you want to install
something else in the mbr. The classic fix for windows is to boot from
a win98 bootdisk and type `fdisk /mbr`, which writes a Windows MBR.
Win2k and winxp have a rescue mode that you boot to from the CD and you
can repair the MBR. I have successfully dual-booted thousands of
systems using grub to boot Linux and Windows, so I should be able to
help with any problems that you may have.
