When trying to update a system to RHEL 5.6, I'm running into
problems with the already installed blender package. It appears to
be an issue with it's dependency on gettext:

You could try using --skip-broken to work around the problem
You could try running: package-cleanup --problems
                         package-cleanup --dupes
                         rpm -Va --nofiles --nodigest

looks like the soname of gettext was bumped. which means blender will
need to be rebuilt against the new gettext. best bet would be to file a
bug against blender and the maintainer can then issue the rebuild and
create an update
