pthread?

A user of ext3grep had a configuration problem
that I tracked down to the fact that

pkg-config --cflags ext2fs

returns

-pthread

Why does it return -pthread ?
That seems a bug to me.

Please keep this user in the CC.

Note on my (debian) system `pkg-config --cflags ext2fs`
returns nothing. I don't know why his returns -pthread.
Siegward, any ideas?
