It's not a term of disrespect. It's a term which I use to refer to
myself as well in certain circumstances.
A package maintainer is able to work on the package, fix bugs,
co-operate and contribute to upstream maintenance.
A package-monkey can just build it and can't really do much else.
I've recently tried to get rid of packages for which I can only be a
package-monkey, and declined to accept new packages on similar grounds.
I see no reason to get worked up about the terminology.
