I love vectors, but without gradients.
Kubuntu Breezy Badger had nice SVG example - world map with its logo. Very nice, but I can't find the links.

That idea is really good and will look really sharp.

I think perhaps white lettering would help the Fedora logo to stand out equally
with the black silhouette.
