Hi,
I have been relunctant to use 1024x768 resolution. Even on a 17"
monitor, I find everything too small. However, I noticed that the
GNOME resolution tool has an option of 832x624. This is perfect for me
as 800X600 is a little too big. (Starting to sound like Goldielocks, I
think??) Just wondering why the GNOME tool has this option, but
system-config-display doesn't?
I was using 1024x768 as a system wide setting and 832x624 as my user
setting. However, whenever I logged out and tried use a GDM option the
screen would go screwy and I would have to restart the X Server. GDM
doesn't give me a problem when the system resolution matches the user
resolution. To get arount this problem, I manually added 832x624 in my
xorg.conf file. It would be nice to have it in the GUI tool. I know
it's an oddball size, but it would be nice to have if it's not a lot
of work.
Paul
