I'd wait until you see what the SELinux config comes out like before you
jumped ship. I suspect that most distributions will adopt it eventually.
IMHO your security measures are basic good practise, and nowhere
near paranoid.
Another curmudgeonly Codger (behind two layers of firewalling).
