X display issues with nvidia cards

Hi all,

I have a system currently running redhat 8.0 just fine, it has a nvidia 
tnt2 ultra graphics chip, and any version of redhat past 8.0 including 
fedora won't run X...whats the dilly here?  Any help appreciated.  I can 
install using the text version, but much prefer X for various admin 
tasks.  Pls advise.
