WARNING - rpm possibly broken in today's update

I just tried to update to today's batch of new development rpms and
now rpm is broken.

I could be just me, I suppose, but you might want to hold off updating
to rpm-4.2.2-0.5.i386.rpm for a while just in case.

After updating to rpm-4.2.2-0.5.i386.rpm I now get:

    [root at ontap root]# rpm -q rpm
    rpmdb: Program version 4.2 doesn't match environment version
    error: db4 error(22) from dbenv->open: Invalid argument
    error: cannot open Packages index using db3 - Invalid argument (22)
    error: cannot open Packages database in /var/lib/rpm
    package rpm is not installed

Can anyone sugest a way out of this "Catch-22" situation?
