Getting to work on i18n?

Hi,

6 days ago I subscribed to this list and tried to subscribe on the i18n
project to help Fedora Linux translating something to my language
(Brazilian Portuguese).

I received an e-mail telling me that my status was pending... I have to
wait or can I work on something right now? I need some advice :) Thanks.
