My trials of aide have shown that it occasionally segfaults, and is
generally less reliable and stable than tripwire. I'd rather go with what
I know and trust.

Ultimately I am not entirely comfortable with the commercial/OSS split
tripwire, and the fact that maintenance has faded away, but until I feel
more confident about aide I will continue patching and building
tripwire for current systems.

I am hopeful that a fully GPL'ed system integrity verification tool (such
as aide) will eventually replace tripwire.

Meanwhile, my efforts are (at best) a quick fix-in-place solution to
relatively minor incompatibilities that tripwire has with Fedora, and will
suit many people's purposes for now.
