I agree that multiple subdirs are better *however* multiple versions of
the same font in different formats are not and should be cleaned up.

I don't want to have slight behaviour differences because one app will
use Type1 and the other TTF (or between reading and printing).
Multiformat is calling for glyph drift and (more generally) trouble.
