You can obsolete gimp2 just as well (not that I'm arguing one way or
another)

Please don't do this.  With the docs in /usr/share/gtk-doc, they'll get
picked up by devhelp.  With them in /usr/share/doc/gimp-beta-devel, they
are just there for reading by going there directly.
