Is there an entry in /etc/fstab for the camera? I've noticed some issues
with gnome-vfs not properly detecting the changes in /etc/fstab
and /etc/mtab so 'pkill gnome-vfs; pkill nautilus' should do the trick
until that is resolved.
You also want to install gnome-volume-manager and select automount from
the 'Removable Storage' capplet (it's not yet enabled by default IIRC).
If this doesn't help please file a bug against hal.
Thanks,
David
