Adaptec aic79xx driver on x86_64 support

Has there been any progress on this issue? The bugzilla for this problem
(https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=113938) has had no
activity for a while. There is supposedly "quite a bit of work" to clean
the driver up for x86_64, has anyone started on that work yet?
