OK do you have a specific model in mind (or multiple) if so I can try and get my hands on one.

Could you bugzilla, CC me and attach the output of /proc/modules and
/proc/bus/input/devices.  Also attach your X86Config.

If you can get me more information I can have a look.  You can also add debug
into i8042.c, but I'd like to try and reproduce your issues.

NP. Though my gut feeling is this is best for FC2 test1.  Once it's released I'll try and write up a faq for synaptics users.
