Improving the python awareness within rpmlib would be helpful IMNSHO.
How?
The "awareness" of python within rpmlib is already leading to tortured
code paths to preserve the pretense that there are no SELinux and
multilib and mandatory
package signature checking issues that will require changes to python tools.
And getting consensus on changes is a matter of months andf years, not
otherwise.
For starters, the callback, which passes a python object into and out of
rpmlib,
is not exactly an "aware" implementation.
Write rpmlib in python if you *really* want python awareness.
