Re: rawhide rebuild in mock status 2006-05-19

That sort of works against all the assumptions we've been making for a
while.

So far I've not heard an explanation for it it has simply been asserted
that it must be so.

This is not true for most packages, only very few need to have
32bit packages installed in the buildroot.

We anyway build x86_64 and x86 packages on the same machine.
Seth, what is your concern here?

The problem arises when you try to rebuild gcc with mock on x86_64. x86 versions are needed to rebuild for x86_64, if I am understanding this correctly.....

This prevents gcc from being built with mock (in its current state/config)...

From mock's root.log of gcc-4.1.0-17.src.rpm on x86_64:

Executing /usr/sbin/mock-helper yum --installroot /var/lib/mock/fedora-development-x86_64-core-gcc-4.1.0-17.src.rpm/root resolvedep 'zlib-devel' 'flex' '/usr/lib/libc.so' 'libgnat >= 3.1' 'dejagnu' '/usr/lib64/libc.so' 'libXt-devel' '/lib/libc.so.6' 'libart_lgpl-devel >= 2.1.0' 'gettext' 'gtk2-devel >= 2.4.0' 'glib2-devel >= 2.4.0' 'libXtst-devel' '/lib64/libc.so.6' 'bison' 'glibc-devel >= 2.3.90-2' 'binutils >= 2.16.91.0.3-1' 'gmp-devel >= 4.1.2-8' 'texinfo' 'gcc-gnat >= 3.1' 'alsa-lib-devel'
No Package Found for /usr/lib/libc.so
No Package Found for /lib/libc.so.6

I hope I am understanding this correctly :)
