This should just be an artifact of the maximum texture size. I think
all Matrox cards we support DRI on have a hardware coordinate limit of
2048x2048 for textures, but usually don't have sufficient video memory
for that. G200 in particular I would expect to not have enough memory
for a 2k square texture.
it has only 8 mb, from bios it get max. 64 mb aperture - but maybe i mix
something up here -
In principle they can all texture from AGP memory anyway so bumping your
GART size should be good enough; I don't recall if the drivers implement
that though.
how can i do this ?
i guess a boot parameter ? any pointer's to read about ?
anyway:
a. the card has difficulties to show 1024x768 with max. colors. it could
be that this aged part is a little bit weak.
b. i don't need any spec. features on this box, it's only for
downloads/testing, etc.
i test the driver only cause there was a announce to do so and i think
there are a few people out there which dealing with matrox cards.
i also gave my g550 away when fc4 or fc5 came up. (too much green/yellow
screens at that time ...)
if i can do something more testing ..., therewith (?) things keep on
going and ongoing.
