Well, seems I need to be more verbose. I mentioned it earlier in this
thread already:

Yes, having gutenprint in Extras is better then nothing, but a lot of
ordinary users don't even know or care where their printer-drivers come
from -- those won't find gutenprint own their own.

I other words: gutenprint IMHO should get dragged in by a dependency on
a update somehow so people just get it. And that's a job that should be
realized in Core.
