Broken deps in the stable release are not acceptable

That's why I wrote "I know there are people on vacation these days", but
IMO a packager should change a bug's status to assigned if he knows
about the problem and he promised to fix it.

If someone is 'offline' for a while, other people should be allowed to
touch his packages.
