hald keeps dying?

Recently I've been having to restart haldaemon periodically (to get
battery status from gnome-power-manager back), and after a few minutes
'service haldaemon status' will report that hald is stopped.

Nothing about hald shows up in /var/log/messages, and setroubleshooter
is quiet. There's this bug in Bugzilla, but it's probably a different
problem:

Has anyone noticed something similar?
