Fedora Server Spin

Please forgive me for being maybe a little off-topic here, but I just want to 
ask a question about general philosophy behind 'Server' spin.

Now Fedora releases are supported for relatively short time, even when 
fedoralegacy is being concerned. The same time _upgrade_ from version N to 
N+1 is officially _not_ advised <- all official documents clearly state that 
(including FC6). Users are encouraged to do a fresh install instead.

Especially, uprade on running system, using sth. like
<code>
# rpm -Uhv http://*/fedora-release*.rpm && yum update
</code>
is considered as insecure.

Of course I've managed to upgrade couple of desktop machines from FC5 to FC6 
this way and they work OK, but they were not very important systems.

IMHO such a situation,  when you are advised to _not_ upgrade but do a fresh 
install instead is not acceptable for distribution that wants to be 
called 'server'.

So my question is: is there any plan to change this situation? - provide 
some 'guarantee' to do successfull upgrade with yum, or extend support?
