mounting removable media never seems to work

I was not experiencing any problem with usb-storage on my F7 system as
of last week.   Nor was my wife on her nearly default F7 configuration
including selinux set to enforcing. Nor have we experienced it on the
problem after installing F8 on the same hardware.

Difficult to know based on the information you have if this is a
configuration hiccup on your system or something widespread that I was
lucky enough to avoid on multiple systems.
