I was being facetious, :).
Seriously, though, a window manager and an application launcher should
be maximum. No gnome session managers, no nautilus, no dbus, no applets.
Does lxpanel make use of the menu options
inside /usr/share/applications/ or does it require it's own menu
configuration? Even a stripped-down menu selection (no games, no office
apps) might be a good idea. Wouldn't want a bug in gsudoku to bring the
machine down, ;).
